Yes, it’s the weekend again, already. For this weekend’s mix, I’ve gone for another one of those “stuff I’m listening to at the minute” mixes, also known as “stuff that I currently have on my computer, so i don’t have to go and grab a load of CDs and rip them”.
We’ve got some Mystery Jets, in anticipation of their sophomore album 21; something by current indie darlings The Teenagers (FYI, the track on the mix is one of the few good ones on the album. Expect a full review next week….maybe); some music from Kupek, aka Bryan Lee O’ Malley, creator of Scott Pilgrim, covering Canadian indie-popsters Plumtree (more from them next week too); finishing off with some good ol’ KLF. Robots. Is there anything they can’t do? They can walk up stairs (see the Asimo), fight crime (see Robocop) be annoyingly English (see C-3PO), and you can even have sex with them (see Blade Runner).
And so, this week’s mix, Weekend Mix #11 - I, Robot, is dedicated to our battery powered friends - let them thrive and develop to the point where they overthrow humans and use us as batteries to power them. Just like The Matrix! I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait. And I hope that this preceeding statement of robot-sympathising is seen by our new robot overlords, and taken into account prior to the battery processing. Anyway, enjoy!
